Heather LaPera, a Philadelphia native, combines her lifelong love of the arts with a strong common core component to ensure that students experience, create, and relate art to academic and personal endeavors. A graduate of Millersville University with degrees in Art Education and Graphic Design Communication with a minor in Athletic Coaching,
LaPera has been teaching for the past 19 years and this is her second year at Perkiomen Valley Middle School East. She is a core member of PBIS, supervises the Art Club, and is pursuing a second Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Her favorite type of art is Pop and Surrealism, and she enjoys painting with bright colors, sculpting in clay, and making glass mosaics. Currently, she resides in Lafayette Hill, PA with her husband and six-year-old son.
